sasha kelley x keek magazine installation at swim gallery
For the month of March, I exhibited works at Swim Gallery. This exhibition included both a collection of photographs in addition to an installation piece that displayed a deconstructed view of my newest venture Keek Magazine.
Black space residency
For the month of March I participating in Black Space Residency. Within this time I focused on scanning film and making my prints for my show at Swim. It felt so good to be so hands on with my creative experience & learn the intricate details it takes to produce work at quality levels.

Participating in the Black Life Residency at BAMPFA gave me a certain push to create a lot of new projects.

While making these works I was thinking about about data and the personal archives we create on social media platforms. In the process of making I download my entire instagram account which was over 2,000 post over 5 years which included life moments, achievements, reflections and artwork that I have fanned over. The short film “A Synthesized Algorithmic Message” is a compilation of the videos that I have collected over time, meanwhile “All of The Things” is a collection of poetry and fragmented life reflections stringed together to express well, all of things.

REAL ART MOM ISH
A part of my self directed studies work this summer/fall was learning to edit video & get more comfortable in front of the camera. I started “realartmomish” as an opportunity for me explore & dable, while feeling into the youtuber / vloger fantasy. It’s giving slice of life & behind the scenes. Very fun to say the least.
